"Il mio museo Pecci ispirato a William Gibson"

In the spring of 2012 a huge crescent of brown will settle in East Meadow, a few hundred meters from the highway. As you can imagine will not come from space. Instead, you'll study by Maurice Nio, Sino-Dutch architect, born 50 years ago in Indonesia, an example of a culture that mixes eclectic individual ideas in a language very cyber-punk, technical hazards, east and west, the radical nature of his Rotterdam. Nio is in fact who designed the expansion of the Centre for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci: its semi-circular building, will cover current squared U-shaped museum - which opened in 1988 with great ambitions and then gradually resize - and will act as a springboard to relaunch the museum in a city devoted to the textile industry compressed by a tough economic crisis. The space designed by Nio will have three thousand square meters on two floors, will house exhibitions, performances and other events of 1988 while the museum will exhibit a rolling two thousand pieces in the collection of Italian and foreign art of our time. Today is the director Marco Bazzini, who grew up in the sin itself, for 2012 is to be decided. (unità.it)
